This bread comes out perfectly each time (I use a Cuisinart bread machine). The whole wheat and seeds/nuts gives it heartiness and a bunch of nutrition, and the bread flour gives it softness. Add whatever nuts, seeds or raisins you have on hand. Cut a slice in half if you're counting calories - it will hold you for quite a while. Delicious as toast. For 1-1.2 lb. Bread Machines. From the razzledazzlerecipe.com site. I used King Arthur's Organic White Whole Wheat Bread. I like whole wheat and other whole grains but I am using this and have found that our kids prefer the milder taste. With the first loaf I used rapid rise yeast (Hodgson Mill brand) and it worked great; except the loaf rose so much that the top stuck slightly to the lid of my bread maker! I found instant yeast as the recipe suggests and will use that for future loaves. I used honey and ground flax seeds (unground= nutrition cannot be absorbed). The cook time depends on how long it takes your bread machine to knead, rise, and bake the loaf. My machine takes approx. 2 hrs 20 minutes.
