A variation of a favorite classic meal, with a healthy twist! Uses roughly processed oats and walnuts instead of breadcrumbs, and "flax-egg" instead of egg.

Great way to "sneak in" extra veggies for picky kids or husbands! :)

Moist but NOT mushy when baked in "mini-loaves."

We used to make this all the time with brats and grill the onions in the drippings of the brats. Granted we would get lower fat brats, but they were still brats. This is very very tasty and filled me up with 4.5 servings of 1 cup each. Guys may want 3 servings of 1 1/2 cup each, but that changes the nutritional values to 328.4 calories, 12.5 fat, 29.8 carbs and 23.8 protein.

The recipe is from, but I changed it to be more healthier. Used ground turkey and italian seasoning instead of italian sausage and whole wheat pasta instead of regular pasta and decreased the amt. of cheese used.
