His specific recipe calls for any kind of bean, but I prefer black so that's what I'm using. You can substitute any you like.

just a warning - this is nothing like jello chocolate pudding. This is some serious nutrition, and while it does have a "chocolate-like" flavor, the texture is "different" - unless you have a higher powered blender than mine and can make it smoother. In my case, it was pretty obvious there were some veggies in there. My kids thought it was nasty, but all in all, I enjoyed it with some mixed berries on top and if you're looking to increase your veggie consumption, this should do it! I added a little more cocoa powder and maple syrup than the original recipe and also added some Vega chocolate smoothie powder to boost the protein.

If you've read Joel Fuhrman's book "Eat To Live" you'll know what to do with this salad. Find a very large bowl and pile on your greens! (His lifestyle plan is High Nutrient Density so you try to get 1 lb of fresh raw greens and 1 lb of cooked and raw veggies everyday.)

From "Eat to Live" this is a delicious way to start your day! I have this every morning. The water is optional, depending on thickness preference and how powerful your blender is!
