Roasted Buckwheat Breakfast Cereal
Good 3.7/5
(12 ratings)

Cold, it crunches and pops in your mouth with a bold, nutty taste. Hot, it becomes smooth and more mellow. Either way, buckwheat (kasha) is a healthy, hearty breakfast.

Adapted from a recipe seen on 101 Cookbooks, this is a spectacular, powerful boost to your morning whether you serve it warm or chill it down for a midday "pudding". Any berries can be used, I prefer strawberries or blueberries, or a mix!

I love to make this up and have on hand to take to work for a quick breakfast. Coworkers taste it and want the recipe too!

Wildly Addictive Peanut Butter Granola
Very Good 4.2/5
(33 ratings)

A store near my daughter's house in California has peanut butter granola in the bulk food section. But I couldn't find it anywhere near my house in Illinois, so I found this recipe online and made my own. Now I'm glad I couldn't find it at the store. It's cheaper and I can control the ingredients that are used.

Breakfast Quinoa with Blueberries
Very Good 4.3/5
(6 ratings)

Great high protein alternative to oatmeal. Found this recipe in Martha Stewart magazine. My new favorite breakfast. Takes a while to cook, but you don't have to stand over it. I make four servings without the berries, store three and add the berries to one to eat. Reheat in microwave. You can add more of milk, sugar, cinnamon or blueberries when you serve it -- but remember, that adds more calories and you don't really need it.
