My slow cooker really gets hot so I felt I needed to add some sort of liquid to keep it from sorching. I choose Apple Cider to further flavor the porkchops; Ginger Ale might work...?

We also tend to eat pork chops instead of pork roast. If you need a lower calorie per serving, take out the potatoes when you serve yourself. Potatoes are high in calories.

This is a dish I came up with on my quest for low sodium meals for my boyfriend. I was in the mood for something Italian... it turned out very moist and flavorful. Leftovers freeze well.

This recipe was adapted from the book "The Everyday Low Carb Slow Cooker Cookbook" by Kitty Broihier and Kimberly Mayone. The original called for bottled teriyaki sauce and requried marinating.
