Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.
Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together banana, sugar, egg and vanilla. Stir in the yogurt (I've used applesauce when out of plain yogurt as well). Stir banana mixture into flour until just combined. Scoop batter into prepared muffin cups.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean. Let cool before serving.

Incredible! 5.0/5

The only thing used to sweeten this muffin is honey and whatever natural sugars are in the ripe bananas you use. You can adjust the level of chocolatey taste to your own liking, just remember to adjust the amount of honey accordingly (about 1/2 part honey for every 1 part of cocoa).

Low Fat, Low Sugar Banana-Strawberry Muffins
(no ratings)

The strawberries add enough bulk to make 10 generous sized muffins that are not even 115 calories each! They are also made with whole wheat flour, and without sugar, butter or oil, resulting in a delicious recipe that you couldn't feel guilty about if you tried.

If you do find that it isn't quite sweet enough, adding 1/4 cup sugar to the flour mixture in the beginning will only increase the calories to 133 per muffin. Enjoy!
