I see this much too often "If you use canned beans, the sodium levels will be higher so omit the salt. "

Could someone PLEASE replace it with the comment "If using Canned Beans, be sure to DRAIN AND RINSE thoroughly to reduce the HIGH SODIUM content."

I only use salt in cooking if it's absolutely necessary for the recipe to work correctly! My kids grew up without a salt shaker on our table. Thanks, MYBESTNOW

I enjoy so many of your recipes- even when I have to substitute or play around for my own preferences, they always inspire. I wish you could take pictures of the actual recipe more often- it seems there many (chicken recipes for example) where the picture does not match the ingredients.

I look forward to seeing this new feature in action! It's time for Americans to learn how to cook from scratch again - much of what I see (even in SP boards!) begins w/ a list of ingredients that include waaaaaaaaaay too many processed foods. I hope Chef Meg can remedy this and make an even larger impact than SP already does. Welcome aboard, good luck, and I'll see you on the site!

Fantastic!! This is a great idea, because a lot of people never learned how to cook from scratch and are dependent on heavily processed food. Many of my younger friends never took home economics or helped in the kitchen when they grew up.
Luckily I learned and I think we could make people healthier just by teaching them how to cook. Help me cut calories and modify my southern cooking!

Hooray! Welcome Chef Meg. What a great feature that you are revising member generated recipes and offering some of your own. Win/win.

I realize it's important to have a variety of food suggestions from members etc. but I'd often go to some of the recipes and ended up not choosing them because of the high salt content, or use of prepackaged seasoning, or not a high enough cost (high calorie) benefit (low nutrition) value.

With the addition of Chef Meg you are continuing to make a major commitment to healthy eating - especially encouraging people to try new healthy offerings, not just finding low calorie versions of standard fare (sometimes even low nutrition comfort food).
Thanks. This is why I continue to love Sparkpeople - you're always improving.

Chef Meg is great! Zesting was a neat trick to learn. I am glad she's on board and happy to see that she is designating the amount of each serving instead of just X number of servings. Now, I don't have to weigh and divide any more.

Thanks.
