I have no "unfavorite" candy, so I don't have any, don't give any out.

Sorry, but there's no way I'm gonna work with #5 - just can't stomach the taste of pumpkin :(

I don't buy candy. That is the easiest way to avoid temptation!

The nice thing about Halloween for us is that my son isn't really into candy (the night walk & knocking on doors is the fun part still). He has a small container that he fills in a really fun neighborhood (lots of good decorations). This year we are doing Mad Hatter, March Hare & Dormouse as costumes so we've decided to take a pot of either herb spice tea or hot cider to sip at while walking. After Trick or Treating, the son picks out the candy he wants (we give a piece or 2 a day, takes about a week to finish) & the rest of the candy goes into the break room at my work. ;)

I have to admit. I did buy the candy corn with pumpkins in it today. I then later ate two very small dishes of it. Was a great reminder of what I used to like when I wasn't worried about the sugar. Glenn .

Thank you so much for this article!!!!! I read it yesterday (Halloween) and actually went trick or treating with friends and their little ones without eating or taking home any candy! I was so proud of how I got through the day, and it was thanks to the ideas in my head from this article.

Good tips, should have had my skinny hubby read the article before he went out today and bought one of every kind of 3 pound assorted bags of candy that he could find! And we will probably only have 50 or so trick or treaters.

Oh, and he doesn't eat sweets.
4 tootsie rolls and counting...300 cals left for the day, sigh

I've eaten my 2 packs of Smarties-- off to brush my teeth and go to bed before I do any real damage.

I'm proud of myself this year. I bought one bag and I didn't buy a bunch to take into work. I hope to have a few ghosts and goblins but sadly I rarely have any.

As long as the candy or cookie bag is sealed I wont open it. I wont give in, however once I open it, all goo willpower is shot. This year, the last tricker will receive all the candy that remians in the bowl.. MY Treat to myself

I ask my daughter to hide the candy from me. Out of sight, out of mind. That's my best defense!
