Makes one aware of the calories we burn in everyday tasks. But you know what!!! I have always been very active and overweight. Those chores didn't make me thin. Getting extra exercise and counting calories has taken off the weight. I'm down another lb. today! HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hey everyone Happy Thanksgiving, I really liked this article! I never knew just doing day to day things like carrying groceries, grocery shopping, and cooking could amount to a lot of calories being burned. If that's the case besides working out last night I baked pies and that took 2 hours so boy I burned a lot doing that. Another thing I do on purpose is park my car really far so I can walk more. Well everyone have great day now,

Yes, the little things do add up. Hopefully I will make a point to tally some calories burned at the end of the day.
Happy Thanksgiving.

I really enjoyed this article. I always find that i burn more calories on days when im cleaning my house or getting prepared for guests than days when I go to the gym for an hour.

It's all in the math, and this list is telling! Lots of good reasons for me to get off my duff and do something...anything! I'm so glad I happened upon this article today...December 20th.

i did Christmas shopping for 3 hours and figured that it's pretty equivalent to 1.5 hours of grocering shopping with a cart and was thrilled to figure that i burned off about 219 calories! and to know that every time i go grocery shopping i'm burning calories. i had know idea how these little things could add up!

I am very pleased with seeing this. Many times we are burning calories and don't even realize it. I love having these 'other' calorie burner lists to check with. It is definitely in my favorites!

I too am grateful for the list -I am rarely still, often exhausted adn didn't find anything to help with my 'cardio' totals for the day - now I work it out I am burning off far more than I eat - nearly three times more, so how come I have 40lbs of excess weight? I drink twice ayear ( birthday and christmas glass of wine!) I eat when I remember (yes, I hear you cry, thats the key!) struggle to get to 1200 calories a day.....diets for me are a nightmare as I simply can't eat enough to fulfil the calorific requirements!

Well at least now I can start to calculate where I burn calories, mayeb the key here is to sit down and do nothing at times!

We have a BBQ for xmas. Its good because we have lots of salad + the naughty thins too but just a few, I find it best to just keep active, any excuse to do more activity like play with the kids, fly kites, play cricket, swim in the creek ect, do the dishes, all go for a walk together. Things like that will burn the cals on the xmas days.

I love the quote "Women spend their lives cleaning away dirt and then they get buried in it."

if you're eating, that's 1 hour. 15 minutes of dusting times 4=140 calories about.
