My family LOVES pizza and my husband and I like to make our own. We load them with green and black olives, onion, all kinds of peppers, and lots of mushrooms. We really limit the cheese we add to the top, and find this pizza isn't much different than the "loaded" kind we used to like to eat. My kids don't mind the veggies, so we're very lucky!

Greetings Becky....it was always a fun family thing we did together. Make a pizza pie! Wasn't the healthest though! I'd like to try it again, and will. One other thing......The natural pizzas that Pizza Hut offers...is it really a good healthy choice?

I wonder is white sauce pizza better. When I have eaten it recently I get white sauce instead of the red.

Becky - you are an absolutely fabulous, creative dietician. Thanks so much for ALL your articles! You've got me thinking, too - I make homemade pizza fairly often and might add a little ground flax seed to my dough... thanks! - Sara

Pizza is suppose to be one of those foods everyone goes ape over and can't resist...............I don't care for pizza, my daughter-in-law could eat it 24 hours a day, my son has grown to hate it, my husband doesn't like it unless it is homemade.
I find most take out pizza was always greasy and had more puffy crust than anything.
Growing up in the country I wasn't raised on take out, only a home made one rarely so a greasy, gooey mess on a big slab of dough didn't have much appeal.
Making a home made thin crust one with my own fixins is good every once in a while but not very often..........can't remember the last time I ate pizza!!!

Wondering where you are finding low sodium sauce? I've had no luck thus far.

I really don't like pizza unless it is homemade thin crust. I never liked white bread and most pizzas are all crust........

I LOVE pizza. Especially the calzones loaded with vegetables and all the meats. Thanks for this wonderful information on pizza though. I will know switch to just canadian bacon with all the vegetables.

We love a good pizza, unfortunately we usually ordered the 'LOADED' variety with everything but anchovies. This article really encourages us in the ability to enjoy some of our favorite foods in a much more healthy manner.
