Ground Beef Borscht

I've made this on the stove, or in the crockpot cooked on low for 8 hrs. If using crockpot brown the hamburger first.
It's even better the next day! Use lean stew meat in place of hamburger if desired. Extra lean ground beef is less expensive..

5 HOUR BEEF STEW

Borsch (Beet Soup)

This is a treasured family recipe, adapted from what my Ukrainian mother-in-law used to make. Each time you make it the taste will be different, but always excellent and even better as the flavors meld. The amount of vinegar and dill may be adjusted to add flavor.
