Black Velvet Ice Cream

Chocolate Buttermilk Cupcakes

Preheat oven to 350
Sift together dry ingredients. Add Oil, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Beat for 2 minutes on medium.
Fill paper baking cups halfway.
Bake 20 minutes or until tester comes out clean
transfer to wire rack and cool for at least 20 minutes before removing cupcakes

My variation on my mums recipe. Can either be cooked in a casserole dish in the oven or (as here) in a slow cooker, all day while you are away at work.

Depression (crazy) Cake with frosting

Makes a fast easy dense chocolate cake. I've even mixed up all the dry ingredients and placed them in containers for fast easy cake mixes. I found this recipe because my husband's grandmother use to make one very similar to it for him as a treat. AKA Hazelnut and Almond Praline. Adapted from Grace Massa Langlois' book "Grace's Sweet Life", using half brown, half white sugar, a pinch of sea salt, and corn syrup
