This is a pretty bland biscotti. The orange & pecan gives it the right hint of flavor. The recipe is basic old school. I've just been tweaking it a bit, trying to make it a little healthier for me. You can make it as fancy as you like, by adding chocolate dipping or drizzle.
I used Splenda for Baking in this recipe. Not the one that has sugar mixed with it, but the regular Splenda. I had to use twice as much Splenda (2 c) as I would use sugar (.75 c) but I figure the least reg. sugar I use works for me. I wanted real-like dense biscotti. Also, the egg substitute I added at the end when the dough seemed a little dry. I only added a splash to moisten it up. This is the 2nd time I've made this, and the first time I made it using Splenda. Just trying to get some real, yet low sugar/fat biscotti while trying to perfect the recipe. Submitted by DIRTFLIRT88
A less fattenning and easier/quicker version of my Original Gourmet Pizza. (Instead of using Cider Vinegar, I use Red Wine Vinegar--couldn't find the info. for Red Wine Vinegar on the food discription link...it can't be bad though.)Submitted by DIRTFLIRT88
