I started making this after I realized I was buying a quart of soup from take-out Chinese every week one winter. I gathered recipes and put them all together. You will need to either have an Asian market available or you can probably order on the internet. The good thing is that one trip will net you enough long-lived ingredients for a number of batches. of soup.Submitted by DARUMA
This is a simple recipe which I have "lighten" up as much as possible. This nutritional values are with the fat free sour cream. I enjoy making this one as it allows me to be creative with different dried fruits such as mango, apricot. Also, can be made with fresh fruits if you desire.
It's adoptable for Passover by using Kosher forPassover noodles as well as Kosher for Passover ingredients. This is a splurg recipe for me but for once or twice a year it's a treat.Submitted by WESCOBAR
Don't let the sauerkraut scare you off. By rinsing it, you get rid of a lot of the sodium (my guess is the nutritional info shows too much) and all the apples mitigate the sour taste of sauerkraut.Submitted by DARUMA
In my old neighborhood, there was an amazing takeout place where I'd get Thai curry vegetables on a pretty regular basis. I didn't think I could make it, or make it healthfully for that matter - until this morning. I played around with what I had on hand and came up with the following recipe for tonight's dinner, with plenty to freeze for later cravings.Submitted by ABSINTHEMINDED
With this dish you get a serving of fruit in every portion. Dice the orange if you prefer smaller pieces and--if you're feeling creative--use a vegetable peeler to create curls of orange zest.Submitted by CHEF_MEG
