These healthy breakfast bars provide a respectable level of protein and fiber without a ton of calories. Best of all, they can be eaten on the run. Reconfigure the "additions" to suit your fancy.... or replace the Splenda with another sweetener if you're trying to stay "au natural." This is a base recipe that can be tweaked to your taste!

This energy-packed recipe is so easy to make, and requires no baking! Whether you decide to wrap the bars in individual wrappings or just keep them in the fridge for a post-workout boost, these are a delicious way to keep you going throughout your day.

I prefer to use a basic organic crispy rice cereal from the bulk section of my local health food store, but any crispy (not "puffed") rice cereal that is dairy-free will do.

Original recipe calls for regular breakfast sausage, such as Jimmy Dean. But I found this substitute to taste just as good and much less fat and healthier. A great grab and go breakfast. Make ahead and wrap individually in the refridge, micro for 30 seconds on high and go!!

This is super easy and even my picky eater will gobble it up (as long as he has Tasbasco!). Also GF and soy free!
For a sturdier frittata, add 2 more egg whites. I served this with Refried Sweet Potatoes.

Homemade Turkey Sausage
Very Good 4.0/5

This sausage has no sodium nitrate or msg because it is homemade. I cook all the sausage and if any is remaining I place in an airtight container and place them in the fridge and take them out as needed...My very own Jimmy Dean sausage! You can also make small balls of sausage or take a cooked patty and crumble it on top of your homemade pizza or use the patty for a sausage egg mcmuffin sandwich. Very delicious. You won't be disappointed

These are great anytime of day. I even crumble them into plain fat free greek yogurt.
I also made them with dates for figs and walnuts for the pecans.
