One of my favorite childhood memories is eating Grandma's 'cabbage casserole'. It's one of those things where you just layer 'stuff' in a pan and bake, but boy, is it good! This version substitutes ground white meat turkey for her ground beef and brown rice for the white rice she used. It's every bit as good, though, as Grandma's -- and better for ya.

great crockpot dinner---kids love it!!
(best if made with "Healthy Request" soups=less sodium, I couldn't find HR Mushroom at this time)
**Note** other similar recipes don't have accurate nutrition info.....they only put a "serving" of soup, not the actual "whole can" as this recipe does!

Brown hamburger and onions. Drain off any fat. Add cream of mushroom soup. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Add sour cream at the end heat through. Serve over egg noodles, rice or bread.

I saw this recipe on a recipe website and changed the ground beef to ground sirloin and the american cheese to 2%. ALSO RECIPE FORGOT TO CALL FOR CAN OF WATER TO DILUTE SOUP.

Brown turkey in skillet. Start pot of water to boil for noodles. Add dry onion flakes (optional) and 1 cup of water to skillet. Add mushrooms and soup mixing well with the water to skillet cooking on simmer for 15 minutes or until pasta is done. Add egg noodles to boiling water cook until tender. Drain and add to skillet. Add 8 oz. sour cream to skillet mixing well.
