The worst thing about this is the sodium, but if you use a low sodium broth it would help. Just throw it all in the crock pot and you have a wonderful dinner ready to go whenever the masses are ready to eat!

This is a wonderful lower fat version of the comfort food favorite without sacrificing any of the satisfying flavor. If you used 2% milkfat cheese the calories would drop to 203 per serving, but I prefer the flavor of the full fat cheese for this recipe. I use 3/4 c. of the Cream Soup Mix recipe posted by 1DECKER for this recipe.

This is a wonderful light version of the classic favorite. Other than the broth, the ingredients are estimates of what I used. Season to your individual taste. The nutritional info is for the topping only, NOT the biscuit. (I also have a recipe posted for Baking Powder Biscuits and the calorie count is about 180 per biscuit)

I just threw this together for dinner tonight and wanted to get it down in writing so that I don't forget it as we all loved it! Spices and vegetables are estimated measurements...add according to taste. I plan to make my own chili sauce next time to cut down on the sodium! YIKES!

This is easy to make and gives you the freedom to adjust ingredients, such as salt and red pepper flakes, according to taste or diet restrictions. My family acutally prefers this to the fattier store bought pork sausage.

This is a recipe from Taste of Home years ago that is a family favorite. I lightened it up by using egg whites and lite mayo, and added fiber by using oatmeal as opposed to bread crumbs. I generally use dried minced onion for convenience.

I first got the recipe from a Suzanne Somers site and have altered it a bit. My 3 year old ate almost 6 oz all my himself tonight. This is great as a side dish with meatloaf! I would cut the serving sizes down, though. I calculated it for 4 dinner size portions and we eat it with a salad or small piece of meat like grilled chicken. But you could make six servings and eat it with meat loaf. The nutrition would then be 169.1 cal, 9.2 fat, 9.4 carbs, and 12.5 protein. Yum, either way!
