My husband claims this marinade makes skinless chicken breasts taste like a good cut of steak. I'm not so sure about tasting like steak, but this is deffinitely not a boring ol' slab of grilled chicken. Moist and tender with loads of flavor. They even taste good reheated the next day. Oh and the nutritional info isn't exactly acurate because you don't actually eat all of the marinade but I'm not sure how to make it acurate.

You can easily multiply this to make for a group. I made this for myself first to ensure it was edible and found it was AMAZING. Next step is serving the family!

This is easily a whole meal. Or you could make 2 portions and serve it to 3, and add some veggies on the side.

Adapted from http://frazgofeasting.blogspot.com/2009/03/sourdough-dried-fruit-scones.html, these are made without any kind of added fat or eggs (and would be fat free if you use skim milk). They're a good, quick carb hit that's completely customizable and a great way to use up starter toss-off. For Easter I soaked the fruit (raisins and currants) in amaretto and made crosses on the baked scones with a confectioner's-sugar and almond extract icing.

Slightly sweet, but with a delicious sourdough tang as well, this is a delicious way to use up sourdough starter toss-off. Adapted from a recipe found at http://tinyurl.com/4ybakj.

I used my starter (whole-wheat and spelt flour) and added Kamut and All-Purpose flours to the dough instead of the Durum she calls for. I also used a touch of honey instead of malt syrup and cut the salt in half. Everything else is the same!

Whole grain cereal, sunflower seeds and dried fruit get a tad tipsy on Grand Marnier before being kneaded into a whole wheat and rye sourdough and baked to crispy perfection! Raisin bread just won't seem the same anymore.
I was inspired by a Wild Yeast recipe I saw http://www.wildyeastblog.com/2009/12/06/fruit-and-nut/ for a fruit and nut studded sourdough loaf taken from the book "Bread Matters". Since I had a ton of random ingredients to use up and a starter to refresh anyway, I modified Susan's ingredients but kept her basic method to create this delicious, hearty loaf.

Excellent flavor! The kids and hubbs all liked it. It was much more flavorful (but not overpowering) and fresh tasting than take-out. Everyone gave this a big thumbs up.

This is the meal my kids request most when we get together. I've developed this version based on curry in Japan, and my memories of curries my Mom made. It is a real comfort food, and warms the tum, best in cool weather, but my family loves it any time. It makes a big pot -the serving number is an estimate. It's basically a thickened spicy stew, so easily varied according to your tastes. We love it with lots of potatoes and carrots. Enjoy!

Obviously, this recipe can be made lighter by varying the thickening agent, but I personally don't wish to mess with it. Let me know if you have luck with it.

This is a winter favourite in Japan, both as part of a main meal and as a savoury accompnaniment to sake.
For an authentic touch, sprinkle with bonito flakes.
If you cannot find mirin you can substitute sake with a little sugar, or use sherry. If you cannot find dashi granules you can substitute chicken bouillon cubes.

This is a delicious topper for spaghetti that they used to serve at the Old Spaghetti Factory. If you haven't yet tried liver, this is definitely the meal for you. Chicken livers are an extremely lean protein chock full of Vitamins A and B-12 as well as Iron, and they have a surprisingly rich (but not overpowering) flavor. I loved them even as a child!
