I make these bars as a homemade version of Quaker's peanut butter chocolate chip bars. They are not necessarily low cal or low fat; I make them for my very active kids to have a homemade alternative, so I know the ingredients that are going in are mostly healthy, and no strange chemicals. A store near my daughter's house in California has peanut butter granola in the bulk food section. But I couldn't find it anywhere near my house in Illinois, so I found this recipe online and made my own. Now I'm glad I couldn't find it at the store. This is a revamp of a granola recipe that I found, but there were a bunch of funky ingredients that were either too expensive for me or just felt like over kill of a great idea.
