Cookbook creator says: This recipe is easy and delicious. One note though, I make it without the soup (cuts down calories and sodium) and sometimes add black bean and/or corn like some of the other reviewers. It is just as yummy without the soup for those who might want to omit it.

Cookbook creator says: stars. This is just like a tzatziki with cucumber, garlic and mint, it is a very refreshing salad.
I always substitute natural Greek yoghurt in place of any mayo, salad cream and goes well with fruit and desserts.
It is so versatile for savoury and sweet things and is good for you too!

These healthy breakfast bars provide a respectable level of protein and fiber without a ton of calories. Best of all, they can be eaten on the run. Reconfigure the "additions" to suit your fancy.... or replace the Splenda with another sweetener if you're trying to stay "au natural." This is a base recipe that can be tweaked to your taste!

From my Granny's old Purity Cook Book, my Dad's favourite. :) (The recipe originally called for half the ingredients listed here, and baked in a 8-inch square pan.) I've doubled it here for a crowd! NOT a 'diet' food, but a good treat. All calories are calculated, down to the greasing of the pan --- you're covered! ;-)
