Low Sugar Low GI Diabetic Desserts

Most of these desserts are made with agave syrup which is low on the glycemic index. My husband is a diabetic and can eat desserts with agave syrup.

I came up with this recipe when I had too many plums and needed to get rid of some! This is a dense, moist cake and a good, kid friendly way to sneak in fruit!

Made with Trader Joe's High Fiber O's and agave syrup this is a cookies my whole family loves including my diabetic husband! This is great as a snack or even breakfast.

Based on a recipe found at thenourishinggourmet.com - I adjusted the cocoa powder and agave to my taste.

This is not a low-fat recipe, but it is awesome for those who are dairy-free and/or prefer a healthier sweetener. You can also make it 100% organic by shopping carefully. Next time I'm going to try it with the reduced fat coconut milk.

Delicious, healthy, intensely chocolate brownies with a hint of sweetness. If you like them sweeter, add 1/2 cup more of Agave nectar to the recipe. Only 98 calories & 2.6 grams of fat per serving!
