Low sodium, crock pot
You might want to increase the Worcester sauce to 2 tsp, and I have also added mushrooms to this at times. It goes well with brown rice.
We get 8 servings from this, but if you have hearty eaters you might only get 6.

My family loves the classic comfort foods, but with having to watch sodium, carbs, fats and sugars, we are finding healthy ways to remake the classics. Recipe is actually very easy, though I am very detailed in the description.

This is a great alternative to other bean salads, without the high salt content, and has the added zesty flavor from the lemon pepper.

Kidney beans and olives are very tasty additions or substitutions for the black beans.

These are chock full of flavor (not to mention protein, fiber, and potassium), so you won't miss the salt. Also, they're huge! Can be made into 6 burgers instead of 4 for smaller servings. They're delicious topped with lettuce and ripe avocado slices that are tossed in a bit of lime juice (but that's not included in the calorie count -- neither are buns/pita/bread).

(This recipe is adapted from one in the Washington Post).

A really easy, really fresh tasting delicious meal. Use low-sodium or no-salt-added canned chickpeas and drain and rinse them well to reduce sodium further. (The sodium count from the calculator is for non-rinsed low-sodium chickpeas).

This is a popular Pennsylvania Dutch recipe in my part of the world. The only hard and fast rule is that you need chicken soup with corn in it, otherwise you can add any veggies, rice or pasta. Change it any way you like.

I love coleslaw! I found that it was so high in fat and carbs that I never ate it until I figured out the Tofu Mayonnaise. Now, I can have all the coleslaw I want and not feel guilty. It is perfect before eating a meal because it is high in good fiber and helps to fill me up without over eating.
I worked on this recipe to make it as colorful as it is flavorful. I hope you like it.
