This is the meal my kids request most when we get together. I've developed this version based on curry in Japan, and my memories of curries my Mom made. It is a real comfort food, and warms the tum, best in cool weather, but my family loves it any time. It makes a big pot -the serving number is an estimate. It's basically a thickened spicy stew, so easily varied according to your tastes. We love it with lots of potatoes and carrots. Enjoy!

Obviously, this recipe can be made lighter by varying the thickening agent, but I personally don't wish to mess with it. Let me know if you have luck with it.

My Japanese lady friends seemed to have enjoyed them today at tea-time, though they suggested I leave out the salt next time. (but that's just a Japanese sweets/cookies/cakes thing, nothing seems to call for salt.) I love it with extra salt, lol. I read someplace that adding salt to chocolate dishes enhances the flavor. What do you think? Enjoy!

My mother-in-law (whom is a great cook) gave me this recipe. It is easy, but really yummy! I have made it for week night suppers and fancy occassions. We mix up the spices we use in it constantly. It can be cooked in the oven or the crockpot. I usually cook mine in the crockpot.

All from scratch, all low-fat. No cream soup in this recipe. It has a fresh, zippy taste, but be careful on the cooking, as you don't want to overheat the yogurt.
