The batido is a smoothie made with milk and tropical fruits. For a classic Cuban drink, omit the lime juice and substitute frozen guanábana pulp for the mango. Guanábana is an exotic-tasting, rich, tart-sweet, white-fleshed fruit.

I was intrigued by all of the protein drinks out there... They SOUNDED really healthy, but they had FAKE SUGARS --- blah! :( I'd rather have a small amount of REAL SUGARS, so I whipped up this little number... [Created 2007-09-11.]

This is a great recipe for those that can't be trusted with ice cream in the house. It doesn't sound like it would be all that good, but it really is. Totally worth a try. It reminds me of a Wendy's frosty, but I think it is better for you and more fun to customize yourself.
