This recipe has been healthy-fied from an older version that I've had for years. I've thrown the old less healthy version out the door!! WooHoo!

The wheat germ absorbes moisture so the sauce won't run right out when cutting. It also provides fiber. If you do not have wheat germ handy just replace it with one large egg.

Also, use whatever veggies you have on hand! This recipe will also be great with eggplant, zucchini, carrots, etc.

Enjoy! *Also freezes great (think convenience!)

Something I made for my spice-nut, vegan daughter. If you don't have all of the spices, you can easily substitute Mrs. Dash Southwest Chipotle Seasoning and add extra basil and cumin. Nice hearty winter stew. Add any other veggies you like. Don't like rice, add cooked diced sweet potatoes. Very versatile recips.

Seriously EASY and tasty flour tortillas. Take the time to prepare them, be patient with the food and with yourself, and you'll have really awesome wraps for a sandwich :) Having a cast iron tortilla pan works nicely, as does the ability to roll sticky dough into the thickness of a traditional crepe.

I love salsa but it seems all the store bought ones are so high in sodium that I wasn't able to enjoy much of them. I came up with this recipe that has all the flavor and ingredients that I love and is so low in sodium that I can have as much as I want. Delicious! This is a hot version. I have been trying to find a low sodium bbq sauce but have been unsuccessful finding any in the local stores, so I decided to create my own. This recipe is my own take on a recipe from recipezarr.com - you could use splenda brown sugar and whatever spices you like (will alter nutritional information). Red lentils look very pretty, until they are cooked! This soup isn't necessarily beautiful to look at, but it is extremely tasty and filled with vitamins, protein, and fiber. I adapted it from a recipe I found in a vegan cookbook, and gave it a little more flavor with kale, seasonings, and smoked paprika. I LOVE smoked paprika, and I strive to put it in almost everything!

With this soup, you can easily get lunch or dinner on the table in under an hour. Serve with lemon wedges, toasted whole-grain pita bread, and a side salad for a filling meal. If you'd like the soup to be even creamier, stir in some plain, unsweetened soy yogurt (for vegans) orG Greek Yogurt (for vegetarians) before serving.
