We browned this sausage and then sauted some onions/bell peppers to go onto of this vegan dog....delicious! Experiment with your seasonings and come up with new varieties! I quit eating "things with feet" to get my MD off my back about cholesterol and blood pressure...and, because I married a pretty little thing 12 years younger than me. I mean, do the math: I'm older, so, statistically speaking, I should take a croak, before her. Well, I don't WANNA. My sister and I have made this recipe several times and love it!!! It is more like a granola than a cereal, but that is the way it is meant to be. Not only is it delicious but the calories are pretty low for a granola. Does not taste like diet food at all. This is a much healthier alternative to regular meatballs. They're also pretty delicious. They taste great with spaghetti and sauce. I prefer to serve them with Trader Joe's Organic Whole Wheat Spaghetti and Trader Joe's Garlic Marinara Sauce. Sometimes the mix can become a little squishy and so we just use it as "meat sauce" instead of rolling into balls. If you wait long enough for moisture to evaporate, making balls should not be an issue. As meatballs they are even better the next day.
