This is a family favourite, I can't make it often enough. a little high on sodium, but worth it.
I always put an old cookie sheet under the pie when cooking as it tends to bubble over.
Serve with cooked carrots and green peas.

We cook regularly with deer meat as it is much leaner than beef, and has great flavor. This is our version of taco filler using ground venison (no tallow or beef mix added). TIP: If you don't like the flavor of venison try adding a cup of beef broth to the meat; in this case, add it instead of water with the taco seasoning. We LOVE this with taco salads!
