I absolutely love Ruben Sandwiches but corned beef is out of the question with one slice having 69 grams of fat on a low fat diet. I decided to change out turkey for the corned beef, used low fat thousand island and low fat swiss and I have one that is great and that workes for my low fat lifestyle.

This wonderful dish combines all things Oktoberfest. Not very healthy if you're watching your sodium. If anyone can think of a way to make this healthier please let me know.

I love German cabbage and noodles with sausage, but it can become very high fat if made the old fashioned way. I have substitued Turkey Kielbasa for the sausage, and whole wheat linguine.

This dish is delicious! It's a great substitute for chili on a cool fall or winter day. You can substitute another brand of egg noodles if you prefer, but the german noodles are best, I think.

Ground turkey and light sour cream lighten the recipe up, while still giving a warm comfort food feel. I serve this over Whole wheat pasta.

My husband ate something similar on a trip to Munich. He searched the internet until he found a recipe that sounded like what he ate. After a few tries and a few alterations, this is what we came up with. Not a low fat meal, but hearty and satifying. Served with mashed potatoes it is a real winner. To accomdate the high fat, just plan out your meals for that day to give balance.
