This is the most basic of the spreads. You can find a variation of this recipe in almost any grocery store, but 95 percent of them are made with either olive oil or tahini (sesame paste), which pushes up the fat content. Your best bet is to take three minutes and make a batch on Sunday that will last you for the week.

Apple-Cinnamon Slow Cooker Oatmeal
Good 3.2/5

Start the day off right with sweet and creamy slow cooker oats for breakfast. The evaporated milk adds such creaminess that you'll think you're having pudding for breakfast.

A great option to traditional or canned refried beans, and better tasting too. Just a few simple ingredients and virtually no effort to prepare.

Use this to dress your salad or as a dipping sauce for cut vegetables. Don't like cilantro? No problem, just swap it out for Italian parsley or dill.

A terrific way to start your day, much better than the frozen waffles you can find at the grocery store.

Removed the dairy from Meg's recipe. Removed the dates as I don't like them.

Cold, it crunches and pops in your mouth with a bold, nutty taste. Hot, it becomes smooth and more mellow. Either way, buckwheat (kasha) is a healthy, hearty breakfast.

Peanut sauce is one of my favorite things to eat, usually with tofu, green vegetables (like broccoli, spinach and edamame) and brown rice.

I have been trying to find a low sodium bbq sauce but have been unsuccessful finding any in the local stores, so I decided to create my own. This recipe is my own take on a recipe from recipezarr.com - you could use splenda brown sugar and whatever spices you like (will alter nutritional information). I will continue to play with this recipe, it was very good (sweet with a little tang) and has a lot of potential to be even better.
