I was very intimidated by the concept of making homeade gnocchi; but it was very simple and turned out wonderfully! Pair with your sauce of choice, I used a simple sauce of olive oil, garlic, chili peppers, and diced tomatos. Yum! This simple, nutritious soup can be changed to your liking by making your own broth or switching the types of beans. I used green lentils, but red lentils, and garbanzos are great as well. Submitted by BRANUBODY08 Carbs: 23.1g | Fat: 3.9g | Fiber: 6.1g | Protein: 4.6g | Calories: 141.3

Very Filling and Flavorful Alternative to Hash. Good with a bit of turkey bacon and a low sodium V8 for the start of the day. This can, in theory be doubled to make patties. I would suggest using as little broth as you need if doing that. Submitted by THESPY75 Carbs: 26.1g | Fat: 4.8g | Fiber: 8g | Protein: 9g | Calories: 182.9

My father's grandparents on both sides were from Austria and he grew up with many traditional German and Austrian dishes and a love for cooked cabbage in various forms. This love he passed on to me and I'm delighted to present his sweet and sour red cabbage recipe. Submitted by KFCOOKE Carbs: 18.3g | Fat: 5.9g | Fiber: 2.2g | Protein: 1.6g | Calories: 128.5

I quit eating "things with feet" to get my MD off my back about cholesterol and blood pressure...and, because I married a pretty little thing 12 years younger than me. I mean, do the math: I'm older, so, statistically speaking, I should take a croak, before her. Well, I don't WANNA. But, foods like sausage are the paving stones of the road to hell, from a dietary standpoint. And, one of my favorite foods. So, here's a VERY viable substitute. You're going to need cheesecloth and stout string; dental floss will do. Submitted by TA24JC Carbs: 15.8g | Fat: 4.2g | Fiber: 2.7g | Protein: 66.9g | Calories: 361.4
