You can lighten this recipe up by using non-fat parm but I love it this way and it still is a reasonable calorie count. The quinoa makes this pilaf extra nutritional. One of my family's favorite sides. Could also be a good main meal by adding cubed chicken breast or just leave vegetarian (use vegetable stock instead of chicken). Sometimes I add a different variety of veggies like green beans.

The meat does not need to be seared in skillet first to make this fall-apart tender, pulled BBQ beef for sandwiches. This recipe has so much flavor no one will notice the Worcestshire sauce & the salt were deleted to reduce sodium (you may also use low-sodium catsup and BBQ to reduce sodium further). Using molasses instead of brown sugar and Worcestshire gives a depth of flavor and authenticity, while reducing sugar & sodium. It is great to take to picnics, buffets, or tailgating. Freezes well.

you can adjust the amount of salt and pepper to your taste and you can also adjust the amount of parmesan to your liking sometimes i add a little chili powder or paprika for a kick

This is an altered recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook. It uses ready-to-bake/no-boil gluten free rice noodle in the place of normal lasagna noodles and it tastes GREAT! I got this recipe off of RecipeZaar.com. According to the recipe description there, this recipe was from a 1995 or 1996 National Enquirer. It was posted on 'Zaar by Spyder-man. I did make a few minor modifications (I didn't add green peppers or shallots and made some other adjustments).

I don't believe the Cabbage Soup Diet is a great diet to follow, however, this is a really good soup for snacking or lunch. It reminds me of the Cabbage Soup they serve at Big Boy. Also, I halved the recipe and it still made a TON of soup - - roughly 20 servings.

This was another recipe but I don't like having the same meat two meals in a row so I used chicken breasts that I chopped up instead of the ground turkey that the other recipe used. It was very easy to prepare and very good to eat. Not like the traditional pot pie from Stouffers but hey it works and it satisfied my comfort food need. I also changed the #of servings as the other recipe says this is to make 8 servings and it just was not quite enough to feel an unsatisfied stomach. I therefore would normally eat two servings as many others would. It is a full meal in itself and you don't need to add anything to it other than a glass of Ice Water and you are good to go.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease muffin cups or line with paper muffin liners.
Mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together banana, sugar, egg and vanilla. Stir in the yogurt (I've used applesauce when out of plain yogurt as well). Stir banana mixture into flour until just combined. Scoop batter into prepared muffin cups.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean. Let cool before serving.

I started making these for my children when they were very young (and wanted to know what exactly I was putting in their mouths). Now they are a family favorite and a working mom's delight.

They have more calories than frozen waffles, but they are packed with good nutrition and keep you full until noon.These are great when made ahead of time. They are very dense pancakes and because they are so dense you can pop them into the toaster to warm up like an eggo. Simply wait until they cool and freeze them or seal them in a container for the fridge. They last about a week in the fridge.

I use oat milk because I am a vegetarian and want more protein than soy or rice milk can provide. However, I have used all the milks (including dairy) and they work fine. The calorie calculation is done with oat milk and brown sugar included in the recipe. Values will change depending on the milk you use and if you add the brown sugar or not.

Serving Ideas: Serve with fresh fruit or sugar free maple syrup.

Some people think the only difference between a pancake recipe and a waffle recipe is more liquid in the waffle batter (as Bisquick might have you believe) but that is SO not true! If you want airy, delicious, restaurant quality waffles, it takes a bit more effort, but it is very much worth it!
