You can lighten this recipe up by using non-fat parm but I love it this way and it still is a reasonable calorie count. The quinoa makes this pilaf extra nutritional. One of my family's favorite sides. Could also be a good main meal by adding cubed chicken breast or just leave vegetarian (use vegetable stock instead of chicken). The meat does not need to be seared in skillet first to make this fall-apart tender, pulled BBQ beef for sandwiches. This recipe has so much flavor no one will notice the Worcestshire sauce & the salt were deleted to reduce sodium (you may also use low-sodium catsup and BBQ to reduce sodium further). This was another recipe but I don't like having the same meat two meals in a row so I used chicken breasts that I chopped up instead of the ground turkey that the other recipe used. It was very easy to prepare and very good to eat. Not like the traditional pot pie from Stouffers but hey it works and it satisfied my comfort food need. I also changed the #of servings as the other recipe says this is to make 8 servings and it just was not quite enough to feel an unsatisfied stomach. I therefore would normally eat two servings as many others would. It is a full meal in itself and you don't need to add anything to it other than a glass of Ice Water and you are good to go.
