Vanilla Flavoring

"Vanilla extract" usually isn't made with real vanilla. The good news is that it's really easy--and affordable--to make your own.

Herb Roasted Garlic

Garlic is good for more than keeping away vampires. It's also quite good for you and full of flavor. Roasting garlic mellows its flavor and gives it a creamy texture.Submitted by CHEF_MEG

It looks like jam, but it's bursting with whole fruit and thick enough to eat with a fork. Serve over pork roast, on top of yogurt or cottage cheese, or on your morning toast.Submitted by CHEF_MEG

Parisian Vinaigrette

Here is a lovely vinaigrette that I have come across during my travels in France and perfected myself. It's definitely tangy and fresh. If you love garlic this vinaigrette is perfect. Serve it with a simple baguette and a bit of cheese, pour on your salads, or dress your meat with it.Submitted by SWEETMOYA

Favorite Simple Salad Dressing

This is my basic salad dressing recipe, taught to me by a good friend from France. You can change out the oil or vinegar type, add light mayo to make a creamier dressing, use sugar or Splenda instead of honey, add garlic or shallot to give it more of a bite, switch vinegar out for lemon or lime juice, etc. Basic and versatile.Submitted by ALFORSTER

If you want a stock packed with flavor, this is the one to make. Change it up: Add ginger for Asian-style stock and garlic for Italian flair. Submitted by CHEF_MEG
