Cookbook creator says: This is my husband's favorite home-cooked meal. I took it from a neighborhood cookbook we received back in the 1990's. I've modified it a bit, and reduced the amount of cheese. It's a great comfort food recipe without as much fat as some other alternatives.

Tastes great over rice pilaf!

Cookbook creator says: This is the only soup I can make that my husband will actually eat! It's similar to a chili, but a little thinner in consistency. You can make it and freeze portions for future use. Great for a crowd. Can sub tortilla chips for the tortillas. Serve with cheese and sour cream.
