Cookbook creator says: You can use any number of veggies with this recipe. I mixed fresh and frozen spinach, added broccoli and french beans, and fresh cucumber at the end. I left the cheese out and it was still great. Seasoning this dish will be important for taste.

This is something my mother cooked in the 1960s and 70s. It's a variation on hamburger hotdish, and an easy stove-top recipe. Embellish at will with sour cream, chiles, spices.

This is one of our family favorites! Although it's pretty low in calories and fat (for fettuccine alfredo), it has plenty of flavor. This looks really good, too, so we make it sometimes when company comes. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
