This is a Spark 'Editor's Choice' recipe that I modified for the crockpot, and shredded to make sandwiches with. It's very good. I like it because it's not a traditional bbq type sauce.

Thai Papaya Salad - Som Tum
Good 3.0/5
(4 ratings)

The meal is quite simple to make. The main ingredients are shredded green papaya, chopped green beans, tomoato, dried prawns, unsalted roasted peanuts, chillies, garlic and lime juice. These are all pounded together in a mortar using a pestle.
The papaya salad is best served with sticky rice (khao neow) and grilled chicken.

A Thai inspired-dish which is quick, simple, cheap and low fat yet still feels special and is full of flavour. A great pre-dinner nibble
