This is a great sauce for serving over your favorite pasta, on pizzas, eggplant parm, chicken parm, lasagna, baked ziti or manicotti.

You may simmer this for 24 hours.
This is to reduce the water for a smooth non-runny sauce.

This is a good recipe for beginning home canners. It allows you to control the amount of sugar in your applesauce, and eliminates preservatives. While the sauce will keep for up to a year, the flavor is best if consumed within six months.

This makes a nice healthy low-calorie treat when you are craving something sweet. It also has fiber. I add the sugar last so that I can adjust it to taste. This makes enough for 10 pint jars.

If you don't want that much sauce, cut the recipe down. Allow about one apple for two servings.

This summer dad's fig tree just wouldn't quit. We couldn't eat them fast enough and couldn't give enough away. The tree was just producing so much! So I thought I would try my hand at making fresh fig preserves for my granny since she hasn't had any in years and is always looking for it in the stores. I got my recipe from the Bayou Woman at granny loves it!
