NOTE: The high salt content is due to the pickling process. Most of the salt is rinsed off!

I love this stew! It is so easy and leaves me feeling satisfied. I use 3/4 cup as a serving. If it is too spicy for you, substitute a can of diced tomatoes for one of the diced tomatoes w/chilies.

We found this recipe years ago in a magazine I dont remember which. It has been a family tradition since then. It originally called for ham but I like turkey better. We will add veggies if we have more on hand. Its delicious and easy to make the night before and heat up for Christmas morning.
