Time to Pick a Bone
You can make a good ham and bean soup using just cubes of ham alone, but to get the best flavor you should use a ham bone. You can get your ham bone from the butcher, since they will often give them away or sell them very cheaply, or you can use a leftover bone from a ham that you have served for dinner.
If you are making a ham for dinner, then any leftover ham can be used in the soup as well. In fact, the best ham and bean soup recipes use both ham bones as well as cubes of ham.
So very moist and NO ADDED eggs or oil!
Obviously mayo is made from eggs and oil. Also, I use Hellman's (Best Foods) Light Mayo but it is still pretty healthy with regular. Moistest cake ever though. The family loves it. For real decadence frost with Sander's Frosting. YUM!Submitted by DAKOTATURTLE
This is a low fat recipe that does the trick for me. I use Xylitol which is good for diabetics, pregnant women, and your teeth! Google it, I use this instead of sugar or other sweetners. No fat No sugar! You can also find the Natures sweet dark chocolate bars there. Both can be bought at wholesale on www.naturessunshineproducts.com. Cookbook creator says: Denny and I really like this one. It makes a lot so would be good for having folks over. Lots of ingredients, but fairly easy to make. Most ingredients are on hand anyway.Submitted by ALTHEA13

This simple salad pairs well with grilled meats.
