The original recipe calls for you to cook them in a frying pan in oil, I either cook them in a dry pan, or in the oven for about 10 mins,

They are high in fat, but keep in mind we're talking about HEALTHY fats that are required for healthy neurological and reproductive system function. I find them a good way to up my fat intake for the day when I haven't really eaten much. They're very filling as well. Submitted by: TABIRI

I was looking for a recipe to make a nut a seed bar that I had given to me. I only had the ingredients list, but no proportions. So I came up with this recipe. I added the granulated sugar figuring that it would harden up with the baking to make the bars more easier to handle and to please my sweet tooth. Both of my sons went to Philmont Scout Reservation and came home with leftovers of some fruit and nut bars. This is the closest I've ever come to duplicating them. These bars are very easy to make, and can be varied easily by changing the fruit or nuts.
