Easy homemade bread, can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to back. Up to two weeks. The longer the bread sits, you will get a sourdough flavor
Found this grain mixture at Trader Joe's, wanted to make a lighter side summer salad, as a cold side dish option
My neighbor brought me some cherrieas from his tree, needed to come up with a recipe to use them up. Went with a dessert. Not super low calorie, but not too bad for dessert and works in a few daily essentials!
This is a tred and true recipe that my husband LOVES. However the original recipe called fro 1 cup of Crisco oil! I have been messing with this recipe to cut out some of the bad calories. This version was FANTASTIC, even better than the original. I think you could easily add a whole wheat flour, or even a little oatmeal to fatten the nutrition value.
I had a bunch of leftover vegetables, turkey and gravy from a family dinner left over. Needed to find a way to use them up, so I made this throw together casserole. The gravy makes it a little higher in calories than I like, but it's a great way to use up some leftovers in the fridge, and a fairly easy and quick dinner
I really love the flavors of greek style foods. So I took some of my favorites and made them into a regular salad with greens. With the hopes of cutting down the calories. I have the salad as a meal and sometimes put a little grilled chicken or some couscous with it. Cut the salad in half for two side dishes
I modified a couple of recipes for my taste. Make these ahead of time and freeze individuall for a quick breakfast
I threw this together with some leftover veggies. Turned out pretty good! My daughter and I both thought the concoction was something like what you would find at a mongolian style grill--without all the spices. Next time we will experiment with some spices from the spice cupboard
These yummy pancakes are a great breakfast start. You can use frozen blueberries instead of fresh.
This is a variation of the asian salad. I had to improvise as I didn't have all the ingredients in the original recipe on the meal plan. Lots of veggies and a store bought light viniagarette I had on hand.
