a hearty beef stew with egg noodles
classic tomato based crab soup with old bay seasoning
This is a simple breakfast porridge using oat bran, sugar can be added to taste (a small small drizzle of maple syrup works well) it takes about 3-5 minutes to make and is very filling.
note: I use 2% milk, you can use leaner milk for less fat content but be careful not to let it boil so it doesn't curdle. You can also substitute water for the milk without issue - I chose milk because I like it and it will keep me full.
This is my step mom's recipe for Baked Oatmeal, It comes out with a nice texture - more like a dense bread than like a cookie.
