Recipes I've Shared:
This was based on the recipe in Southern Living magazine's "Party Cookbook" (c) 1972. Over the years, I have changed the recipe to my own taste. NOT for those who are watching cholesterol!
I made a couple of substitutions for suggested ingredients, carefully measured portions, and thus cut the calories in half, and reduced the fat 20%!
From "Desperation Dinners" column by Beverly Mills and Alicia Ross, in the Charlotte Observer Sept. 23, 2009
Really yummy! To make nutritional info work out correctly, 1 serving of shrimp = 3 oz. (approx. 5 shrimp)
This is NOT an original recipe. My husband made it from a recipe he found on the internet. I can't give proper credit to the creator of the recipe because he didn't save that info, but I wanted to make sure no one thinks that I am taking credit for it. I'm just putting it here in the recipe book because I'll surely eat it again!
Quick and easy way to get some protein. 150 calories and 5 g. protein. Serve with pita or naan, and tabbouli salad, for a complete middle eastern-style meal. Try it as a dip for fresh veggies!
Quick way to stretch leftover salmon in a one-dish meal.
