Need something quick and lowfat for a party? Try this! My mother in law made it for Christmas and it was a huge hit!
Chili is a great cold weather dish, tasty and loaded with protein! I've made this recipe for years, and everyone that trys it loves it. The canned mushrooms really add something to it, people start adding them to their own recipe's after they try them in mine!
I had lots of leftover ham and was looking for a recipe to use. I found one here and modified it.
I happened to be running low on cream of chicken soup so I used 1 can of pepper jack cheese soup instead. The results were yummy, and only 123 calories per cup!
Perfect for parties, pot luck, and just a quick snack! 3 ingredients, and then you bake, you can't get any easier than that!
I LOVE chicken & dumplings so when I found this I added my own spin to it and lowered the fat and calories. This is the best chicken and dumplings I've ever had which is amazing since I'm never satisfied with my cooking! You can have a full cup of this hearty comfort food for only 284 calories and 3.8 grams of fat! The sodium could be reduced if homemade biscuits are used instead of the canned biscuits, but if sodium isn't a problem this is a very fast and easy way to make chicken & dumplings!
One of my spark girls made this on a recent girls weekend. It's fabulous and SO easy! It's great with tortilla chips, in a burrito, with rice, or poured over a hotdog! (No we did not try all those options, but you can just tell... ;) ) This is great for kids, potluck dinners, or super bowl parties, and pretty much any other time in between!
Like enchiladas but don't have the time to make them? Try this super easy, super yummy recipe that one of my Spark friends made for me!
This recipe is tasty and low calorie! Pair it with a healthified grilled cheese sandwich and you've got an awesome meal!
I wanted chili and didn't want to go to the store so I used what was in the cabinets.
I love regular chicken & dumplings, but these are fantastic when you want to change them up a bit!
I got this recipe from the hillbillyhousewife.com newsletter. It's simple, cheap to make, and not bad on calories/fat! Plus, almost everyone keeps the ingredients on hand.
I got this recipe from Topsecretrecipes.com and it's supposed to be Cracker Barrel's Macroni & Cheese, not sure about that, but it sure is good! Not what you'd call low fat though. I added this for my own tracking, and I thought I'd share it.
Deloris posted this recipe in the cooking team, so I thought I'd go ahead and enter it into the tracker so everyone could have the nutritional info. I did substitute 1 cup of the sugar for Splenda and egg beaters for the 2 eggs. Makes about 5 dozen.
I found this on Allrecipes.com and it's a real man/kid pleaser, not to mention it's pretty tasty for us gals too!
Note, this is NOT for low sodium diets!
This is a fantastic fruit dip! Whenever I take it anywhere I'm always asked for the recipe!
This is great for summer get togethers and SUPER easy! I have another recipe on SP called Steph2003's Cheesecake Fruit Dip. I used that recipe, but instead of serving the fruit on the side I mixed it all together. Oh, and I also tried Vanilla pudding this time, but it just depends on what you like.
Modified from an allrecipes.com recipe I found. This soup is wonderful! Perfect for those cold winter nights!
I got this from TopSecretRecipes.com, and I lightened it up a bit. The restaurant version is my favorite apple salad.
I can't take credit for this wonderful recipe, it came from a friend of mine. This is a super easy, great tasting dish, cheesy, spicey, and loaded with chicken YUM! This makes so much, it's 24 servings, using 2, 9x13 pans! Great for batch cooking and freezing!
A Hearty Helping of Homemade Chicken Pot Pie! Just cut it into 6 hearty pieces for your meal, or lower the fat/calories by cutting it into 8! FYI for 8 servings there's 401 calories and 17 grams of fat. I serve this with rice as a side, but that's not in the nutritional info. This recipe is not recommended for those on low sodium diets!
This recipe came from a co-worker named Deana, the original recipe is the best carrot cake I've ever had, so I decided trying to lighten it up a bit. This makes a 3 layer cake. I have listed the frosting as a separate recipe.
A friend of mine gave me this recipe, and I love it. The onion really makes a difference!
This is a Spark 'Editor's Choice' recipe that I modified for the crockpot, and shredded to make sandwiches with. It's very good. I like it because it's not a traditional bbq type sauce.
This is a great dish with lots of veggies! Of course you could also use a frozen broccoli, califlower, and carrot mix to change it up a bit!
I found this recipe on SP and added my own spin to it. It's very good, and the servings are large!
This came from Sparker TCEODERTH. While visiting her she made this simple yet tasty dish, so I had to make it for myself! No, it's not the lowest in fat/calories, but you have to treat yourself on occasion.
Living in the south, and being on SP doesn't mean giving up all my favorite foods.
I found this recipe on Allrecipes.com, and modified it to make it lower in fat/calories. The origional calorie content was 475 calories per serving! Ouch!
I have yet to find a full fat version of coconut cake that I like better than this low fat version!
I got this simple recipe from my MIL and I could eat it several times a week!
This is from another SP Recipe, but I've changed it around a bit to lower the fat/calories/sodium. If you're watching your sodium though it's still on the high side.
This is just a bunch of things thrown together in the crockpot, for a quick dinner. Eat alone or with tortillas or tortilla chips.
Here's a great recipe I found on SP and modified (as usual) to make it lower in fat/cals.
This is just a basic banana pudding recipe made with jello, and I substituted animal crackers for the vanilla wafers to save some calories. This makes 6 large servings but it could easily be divided it into 8 servings. For 8 servings it has 176 calories 1.6 grams of fat.
I got this from thepioneerwoman.com and modified it. It's excellent, especially if you add a little vanilla ice cream! Peaches are good too! 1 serving is 1 dumpling, but after you taste them you might just want to save up the calories to have two!
I got this recipe from HealthierLynn, but I used ground beef instead of ground turkey, and I added a few things, so here it is with my additions!
This is the same recipe that I posted earlier, only with substitutions to make it lighter. I made it and the taste is exactly the same as the more fattening version.
Super Simple Side Dish, and if you're a fan of green beans, you'll love it!
This goes with Steph2003's Southern Cornbread Dressing. I don't actually put giblets in it.
There are so many ways to make dressing, so I have combined several of the recipes that I have and come up with this one. Instead of using the canned chicken broth you can use homemade if you're making a chicken to go with this, and you can also add the shredded cooked chicken to the stuffing before baking.
These cookies are super easy and so YUMMY! With only 65 calories and 2 grams of fat each they're great to take along to parties!
I found this recipe and lowered the fat/calories. 1 Cup Egg Beaters could be used to lower the cholesterol, but it only lowers the calories by about 10 per serving.
I found this recipe on SP, modified it, and love it! It's like apple pie for breakfast!
I found this on the SP message boards, and modified it. I plan to make it for Christmas, but I decided to share it before then! I'm sure there are lots of people looking for lower calorie cookie recipes!
Basic Mashed Potatoes, I just added them for my tracking, and thought I might as well share the recipe.
I found this recipe here on SP, and modified it for my use. It's so good I thought I'd share it!
As usual I found this recipe on SP, and changed it around to make it my own.
I got this from an SP friend, but it wasn't posted in the SP recipe's, so I'm putting it in for my own tracking. It's super easy, and low in calories!
Low Fat AND Low Cal! Send all thanks to HealthierLynn, she's the brain behind this recipe!
This turned out so well, and everyone that tried it wanted to recipe. It's just as good as full fat pumpkin pie, if not better! Perfect for the holidays or any time of year.
This came straight from Hungry Girl, and I just had to add it to the SP Recipe's!
