The calorie count does not include the homemade balsamic. Recipe found in my salad cookbook.
The recipe from the book this was pulled from states calories as: 285 calories, 10 gr Fat, 21 gr Carb, and 26 gr Protein for one tostada. Don't know why Sparks would have to so much higher.
The barley is entered but for SOME reason the calculator left it out when it was published!!! It's 1/2 C of barley for the recipe
I used a rotisierre chicken for this salad....breast meat only.
I used 8 oz of Fage plain greek yogurt. I input it into the recipe calculator, but for SOME REASON it is leaving it out!!!
Depending on your slow cooker temperature, may need to reduce cooking time to 6 hours or less.
This recipe has 1 can of pumpkin. The recipe calculator keeps leaving it out? :(
This is a bit time consuming, but well worth the efforts. I pierced the squash with a knife and microwaved for 5 minutes. Then peeled the skin with a peeler, sliced in half, scooped out the seeds, and then cubed and baked.
Can use pineapple or apricots instead of pears for a flavor change
Add 1/4 C blueberries and 2 Tbsp slivered almonds when serving. Not included in the calorie count.
For the preserves, I used a tomato-orange-cinnamon preserve I found at my local grocery. It is SUPER yummy on fish and chicken. Sounds weird, but if you can find it, give it a try.
YUM! I have included the EXOTIC spice mix at the bottom of the ingredient list but it has not been included in calorie count.
I enjoyed it both hot and cold.
Modified from the Mastering your Metabolism cookbook
Calories does not include the type of bread used or if you use butter spray or butter to grill your sandwich.
The original recipe was with Kale, but I had spinach on hand so figured the calories making the soup with spinach. Also the chicken sausage I used was from WHOLE FOODS and it was CHICKEN SAUSAGE WITH CILANTRO.
The main part of this dish can be cooked in the crockpot and cook the noodles when you get home from work.
Serve over brown rice and topped with cottage cheese..NOT in the calorie count.
The leftovers I had was used for breakfast. When reheating, I added vanilla coconut milk which I think created a better taste and texture.
You can use any fresh vegetables on hand. I improvised what I had in this recipe I found in the new Clean Eating Cookbook
Just took a bunch of veggies and stir "fried" them in olive oil to go with my taco salad and my famiy's crunchy tacos. Sounds weird, but it was REALLY awesome!
If serving on bread, you will need to adjust the calories accordingly. This was served over a bed of romaine lettuce.
This was so yummy! Could be made as a dessert really since it had more of a sorbet texture. I think I need more milk, but this was good as it was.
This drink is touted by Nancy Clark sports nutritionaist as a perfect meal after a run or workout. Using the greek yogurt helps to boost the protein numbers.
I grilled peaches to go with some fish and had leftovers. I chopped them up and added them to the chicken once it was about cooked through. What a wonderful combination.
YUM! Can be grilled on the grill as a shishkabob. I baked it the two times I made it and it was delicious.
EVERYONE loved it and some had seconds. I didn't have fresh spinach on hand as the recipe calls for so I used one package of frozen.
I added some garlic pepper into the mix for extra flavor and used kalamata olives rather than black olives like the recipe called for.
