Yummy dessert. You can substitute several ingredients to make yours special!
A lot of the original items used in this recipe is NOT in the Spark ingredient database!
Not hard to make, you can add whatever extra spices you wish. Serve with Creamy Dill Sauce recipe
I saw this recipe and modified it a bit. It's ok but not something I would eat on a regular basis.
Use whatever cheese you like and use herbs and spices to suit YOUR taste.
Yummy side or main dish. Called for garlic salt but I use whole fresh garlic, I also add cilantro.
The recipe called for 2 cups cooked rice but I do not like to add it to the recipe but serve it on the side in case someone does not want rice.
This calls for Draining and reserving the juice from a can of Bush's Black beans, I drain and rinse the beans but add water in place of the bean juice
This is a slower cooker recipe and it is so very tender and juicy.
NOTE: ADD 1 teaspoon DRY MUSTARD WHICH IS NOT IN THE SPARK DATA BASE
Says to serve with cornbread or Mashed potatoes but goes better with noodles.
This is a variation of a recipe from Stonewall Kitchens Roasted Apple Chicken Salad. I did not have the sauce it called for which really makes the salad taste better. I also added the FRESH mandarin orange on my own. It's not too bad but kind of bland.
A different take on Chicken Pot Pie. Great comfort food, This is made from SCRATCH, NOT from cans, tubes, boxes, packages of junk that I found on the other Spark recipes. The crust is so flakey and good. It says to cook it in a cast iron skillet but the amount I ended up with made 2 - 8 inch pies + 2 more servings! You can add different vegetables if desired.
This recipe calls for Herbs de Province and kosher salt which is not listed in the Spark Database. I also used fat free HOME MADE FROM SCRATCH chicken stock.
If you use low sodium soy sauce, and sodium free/low sodium chicken broth in this recipe, the sodium count will NOT be as high as it shows. I only use home made chicken broth with absoultely no sodium except what is in the chicken itself. I also like mine a little bit on the spicy side so you can omit the chili peppers if you like.
This is really good, the spinach and chicken tastes really good together. I used fresh spinach not frozen. My husband said this was a keeper.
Delicious Middle Eastern sandwich recipe. You can add hot sauce or red pepper flakes, you can use more or less lemon juice, more or less spice.'
Chicken can be made kebab style or on the stove, sandwich can be rolled up "burrito" style or eaten flat.
This can be made for a breakfast meal or a dessert.
You can add walnuts, almonds, or pecans if desired.
I added dried cranberries to mine.
The recipe called for 1/4 cup soy milk powder and 2 3/4 cups hot water but I can't use soy products so I used the 2% milk and water.
This may sound bad but it's really good. You may need to adjust the spicy-ness to suit your taste and make sure you use low fat/low sodium products.
I did not have the bouquet garni which calls for Fresh thyme, rosemary and bayleaf so I had to guesstimate.
A good Vegetarian dish, probably can add curry powder to make it spicy.
Recipe calls for 1 ounce dried porcini mushrooms and 3 cups hot water but I used a large can of mushrooms.
Recipe also says to use dried chickpeas, soaked overnight.
The eggplant is baked in the oven not fried
Use olive oil to coat baking sheets to cook the eggplant
Broccoli, shredded carrots, sauteed onions and Parmesan went into this improvised breakfast dish. Use whatever vegetables you desire.
I didn't measure when I added things so the amounts are approximate.
Yummy change for green beans
This recipe uses whole-grain mustard which is not in the SparkPeople data base.
This is something I threw together with leftover cranberries.
You can use whatever spices and flavorings you chose for the pancakes and apples.
Please use common sense when it comes to selecting ingredients, chose the ones that you prefer.
This isn't your Mother's recipe for left over turkey, it's WAY better! This is GREAT for using up left over turkey
I used fat free cheddar cheese (Lifetime) which is not in the Spark Database, I used low fat mayonnaise, my home made sugar and salt free salsa so the nutrition information for this recipe is way off but I had to use what was in the Spark Data base.
NOTE THIS RECIPE USES SLICED BLACK OLIVES, WHICH IS NOT IN THE SPARK DATABASE
Also whatever flour tortillas and picante sauce you want to use.
The balsamic Vinegar gives a great taste to this recipe.
The number of servings depends on how large your Eggplant is, how thick/thin you slice it.
Use COMMON SENSE on the serving size.

I used beef sirloin, beef bouillon granules, cooking spray, which are NOT listed in the SparkPeople database
This is my version of Fruit Compote.
You will need some kind of liquid to keep this moist, I used Cranberry juice. I also used Maple Sugar sprinkles.
This uses 80/20 ground beef, from scratch chili seasoning, low salt tomato sauce and low salt diced tomatoes. We like it spicy to adjust the chili powder and Tabasco to suit your taste.
This is a favorite of my family. It uses cottage cheese and evaporated milk but tastes great!
I did substitute Dreamfields macaroni since it's low carb
Something else I just threw together and not too bad either!
This recipe is for 1/2 a squash per person
THIS RECIPE CALLS FOR VEGETABLE COOKING SPRAY and GREEN ONIONS WHICH IS NOT IN THE SPARK DATA BASE
I just pulled the ingredients out of the fridge and cupboard, layered the ingredients into a 8 x 8 square baking dish, turned the oven to 325 and baked for 2 hours while I was at the gym.
I also used low sodium black beans, sodium free stewed tomatoes, 75% fat free cheese
The ingredients that I actually used are different from the ingredients that are found in the Spark data base so the sodium number is actually lower.

You can serve this with rice, noodles or potatoes.

My home made recipe for Cashew nut butter
I used 1/2 cup blanched cashews and 1/4 cup roasted cashews
Great Crockpot meal for a cookout, gathering or winter meal.
1/2 of the items listed for this recipe are NOT in the Spark People database so I had to use what was in there which made the recipe outrageous in most of the nutrition information. I used MUCH HEALTHIER selections!
There is no claim to be anything low in this one except there is no meat..
Use common sense when selecting ingredients and making this recipe. I used low fat, low sodium items but none of them were found in the Spark food data base.
Please note the changes in the ingredient list because some items were NOT found in the Spark Data base.
I also RINSED each can of beans very well before using them.

The nutrition information is not correct but the ingredients I used are NOT found in the Spark data base. I did not have ground turkey so I used left over Turkey.
The healthier option is 12 ozs ground turkey breast and 12 ozs lean ground sirloin. I did not have either of these so I used ground beef.
The sodium may be high in the nutrition information but if you use common sense and knowledge when selecting the ingredients, the numbers don't have to be this high. The items I used were NOT in the Spark data base, so I had to select what was there.
This is a diabetes friendly recipe and the nutrition information I have is much LOWER than what Spark site says
My version of home made cranberry sauce using Cranberry juice for the water, splenda and sugar free Cranberry Jello.
Much healthier than canned!
A great make over on a traditional favorite. I used crushed bran flakes cereal in place of the called for cornflakes
Note: this uses cooking spray, Coriander POWDER, Cumin POWDER which are NOT in the Spark Database
I threw this together for something different, my version of an Indian dish
1 serving = 1 1/2 cups
I used Pam spray to coat the pan, wilted the spinach slightly.
Please double check the ingredient list, the data base didn't have 1/2 the items I used!
This makes about 1-2 cups of mix, I have no clue what you would consider 1 serving.

This is a substitute recipe for Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette dressing. I used 1 tsp honey in place of the sugar.
My husband loves this, he recommended it.

I don't know if I added the turkey sausage right, I used a 1 lb package of Louis Rich turkey sausage, serving size is 2.5 ounces @ 110 calories a serving. The package is 6 servings, the same as the recipe.
I added extra Parmesan and sprinkled the tops with red pepper flakes for more flavor.
You can use whatever ground meat you like.

I used sliced black olives and rinsed them in water, I used LOW Sodium, low carb tortillas, low fat/reduced sodium refried beans, Fat Free Mild Mexican cheese, but these items are not found in the Spark People database.
