Adapted from "The Korean Table". Good on its own, as a starter or with a side of kimchi and 1/2 cup rice. :)
This Étouffée is a family recipe given to us by a friend from Louisiana. Most Étouffées you see with have a dark red or blonde roux base this one doesn't. We ladle it over rice and serve with french bread, it is savory and delicious.
This is one of my favorite dishes as a child. I adore seafood and pasta! We eat this with crusty bread and a simple dinner salad.
This recipe is adapted from eatingwell.com’s Creamy Hamburger Noodle Casserole recipe. This recipe uses a combination of lean ground beef and bulgur mixture to create a higher fiber, lower fat dish.
We have this with a salad and fruit.
American goulash loaded with veggies and half the beef.
To make this a meal my family eats this with a garden salad, corn bread, and a piece of fresh fruit.
This is a very delicious and comforting dish. Traditionally it is served with bread, but I serve mine over half a cup of rice per person. There is also controversy as to whether or not tomatoes should be added, I say leave them in if you like them take them out if you don't. Oh, and the original recipe uses cream but I use 1% milk.
A chili paste I came up with to spice up dishes. It is based off of the Thai condiment Nam Prig Pow, which I love. This paste is mild with a warm heat, my family isn't as much of a hot head as I am. If you like though substitute half of the Anaheim chiles for dried indian chilies for more kick and flavor.
