Save major money making sushi at home! This is an easy to make sushi roll that tastes just as good as its restaurant counterpart. I use a scale to figure out the exact amounts (and thus closer on the calories) but have listed measurements as well.
A not-too-rich version of sag paneer. Paneer is an Indian cheese which doesn't melt; you can find it in local Indian groceries. Methi (dried fenugreek leaves) are a MUST for this dish.
This is a great recipe for naan that I found on www.allrecipes.com. Highly recommended! If you don't have a grill, a grill pan works well. Even a non-stick griddle or skillet will do in a pinch!
This meringue type frosting is a childhood favorite of mine on angel food cake. It's pure white, fluffy, VERY sticky, and tastes like marshmallow fluff. Fat free and low cal to boot. YUM!
This is a delicious restaurant quality basmati rice. So good. It's worth stopping at an ethnic food store to find black cardamom but you can substitute green cardamom if need be. Please note some of the spices are not included in the calorie breakdown as they don't contribute any calories.
The trick to this recipe is the soaking and the very slow heating. Don't rush it.
Amazing scone recipe from All Recipes.com. VERY CALORIC, so consume in moderation.
Easy and delicious and low cal. This dish is a little high in fat, but you can use fat-free egg substitute and/or low fat feta if you like.
Based on my favorite restaraunt's recipe, this is a rich, filling dinner. Just add a veggie or salad for a complete meal.
Until I tried my girlfriend's delicious recipe for lima beans, I would never touch them. These, however, are YUM and my #1 comfort food.
An easy white sauce from scratch and flavored with fresh mushrooms and garlic. Don't let a jar control the quality of the ingredients you eat! This sauce is delicious over frozen stuffed manicotti or ravioli. Or reduce the amount of milk and use as sauce base for a one-of-a-kind pizza.
A delicious homemade crust that beats the pants off anything else I've made
Based on Bob Evan's Sausage Biscuit Breakfast, this vegetarian version is country-style goodness. If you can afford the extra calories, use a whole biscuit per person.
An easy vegetarian dish. You could make this lighter by using skim milk, fewer whole eggs (or liquid egg substitute), and reduced fat cheese
