I got this from a blog(link attached). Make ahead, freezer bag, crockpot meal.
One for dinner tonight, and one to freeze!
I always buy granola bars but I'm tired of all the added sugars, weird chemicals, and unneccessary stuff in them, not to mention the price(think KIND, Luna, and Cliff) I thought, I HAVE all this stuff at home, why not just make them?
With granola bars, it's hard to find the right balanace. High fiber(Fiber One, Fiber Plus) bars=high SUGAR bars. Kids bars(quaker chewy) usually are whimpy in the fiber department, but also give you a hit of sugar, along with all those franken-ingredients, and oddly enough, they started putting OTHER cereals and unhealthy stuff into bars(have you seen those "treat bars") The expensive nutrition bars aren't really what I need either. They have too many calories for a little snack and tend to give me too MUCH energy for a late-night snack.
Growing up my mom always used to make rice krispies, so this is a combonation of a rice krispie and a peanut butter granola bar. This isn't the "healthy" of bar, packed with fiber or dried fruits or nuts(I only had dried apricots and cashews, not a bad combo, but I'm not gaga over either) but this is still a reasonable alternative to others.
I LOVED the taste of the Green Giant Broccoli and cheese steamers, but they are too expensive! This recipie is great with any veggie, pasta, or casserole.
You could easily make it into a nacho topping by adding more spice, or make it more cheesy by using sharp cheddar cheese and less spice.
"Fluffernutter sandwich fans will love these bar cookies. Avoid using natural peanut butter because it may separate during baking. For a really over-the-top dessert, sprinkle crumbled bars over a sundae of halved bananas and ice cream; drizzle it with chocolate sauce and add a dab of marshmallow creme. "
"These cookie bars are a sensational combination of sweet cookie dough, bittersweet chocolate, and salty pretzels"
A new take on Kim Chi. If you've ever had Kim Chi you know that it's very very spicy and sour. This is a totally different spin on an Asian cabbage side dish!
This recipie features Thai Sweet Chili Sauce, but it's not too spicy. It has a wonderful balance of sweet, spicy, savory, and crunchy.
Tastes kind of like Odwalla's Superfood drink. No added sugar. Filling and healthy.
Haven't tried this personally, just entered it to see the nutrition info.
Don't have it on hand or just don't want to buy it, you can make your own self-rising flour with three ingredients. All you need is flour, baking powder, and salt.
I mixed this up one day and it instantly reminded me of my favorite JJ drink!
OH MY GOODNES;42 CALORIES A MUFFIN?! These are mini muffins, I repeat, MINI-muffins. They are small, so don't get your hopes up (sorry). You can also use a normal sized muffin pan to make 84 calorie muffins.
40 Calories a cookie. Crusty on the outside, soft on the inside.
