BK Apple Turkey Breakfast Sausage

One of my personal favorites. Tried, tested and love it because it gives that sausage taste that you crave without the fat.

Muffin: OX Banana Yogurt Walnut Muffins

From Oxygen magazine. Recommended for PMS symptoms Hmmmm

Reduced bananas to 2; exchanged 1/2 cup rice flour with Spelt flour; some other substitutions too.

Muffin: OX Date and Oatmeal Muffins (revised)

Very dense muffin from Oxygen magazine.

My revisions: upped amount of dates; 1/4 tsp each of ground cinnamon and nutmeg; removed egg; added applesauce; and changed portion size to MINI muffins.

Substitution: you could switch out the dates for raisins. Would also work with pecans or walnuts.

DP CE Tarragon Mustard Dressing

From Clean Eating Magazine.

Recommendations: mix with cubed chicken and halved grapes for a simple chicken salad.

DP CE Ginger-Carrot Honey Dip

From Clean Eating magazine.

Suggestions: serve with garlic crostinis and/or fresh vegetables.

FSH Garlic Shrimp with Veggies

Based upon Garlic Shrimp by SHELLBERTANN. The cheese topping and noodles are NOT calculated in this version, so you can reduce or add a different type then I do (i.e. Ronzoni Healthy Harvest Whole Wheat).

Would also be good served over a salad or even brown rice. Very light taste so would be good as summer dish. Also, you can subsitute zucchini with yellow squash - dice all the veggies to the about the same size for uniform cooking.

I also changed the cooking direction - veggies should start first, as Shrimp takes very little time to cook.

DES Oatmeal Raisin and Date Cookies

I've also used chocolate chips, chopped pecans etc.. This is not a rich tasting decadent cookie but can get you through when you want a cookie.

BRD Cinnamon Twist Loaf

A bread machine sweet bread with swirls of cinnamon and pecan, very festive!

BRD Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

From the book The Complete Book of Bread and Bread Machines by Christini Ingram and Jennie Shapter.

I've tried several of the SR pizza dough recommendations and none of them quite worked right. This book has always had great recipes that worked like they said so this is now the one we use.

Be careful about replacing sugar and flours - this effects the yeast and it's ability to rise. Make sure you've calculated if making a a substitution.

This recipe is only calculated for the dough itself. This allows you to make the pizza your own with adding whatever you wish.

Pizza sauce suggestion: 1 can diced tomatoes with 2 Tbsp tomato paste, pulse 1-3 times in a food processor and use as the base spread.

Pizza topping suggestions:
Neapolitan: Basil, Mozzarella cheese, and Tomatoes.
Hawaiian: Pineapple with lean ham
Hamburger (pre-cook the hamburger and just freeze)
Cheese (try mixing cheese for different combos)
Italian: Sausage, bell pepper, onions (try red if you like more heat) and olives
Pepperoni

BK Lean Ham and Egg cups (revised)

Revised from HAWGWILD1's Lean Ham and Eggs recipe (which is great but I just needed it recalculated for spark)

Options: try chives, chopped bell pepper, mushrooms, whatever you like in an omelette.

BK Pancakes: Basic

This recipe does use Splenda.

BK Spicy Turkey Breakfast Sausage Patties

A breakfast favorite for that sausage taste w/o the calories. Freeze back for breakfast through the week or cook loose (no patties) and use with egg whites.

DP Hummus with Greek Yogurt (no tahini)

DP Hummus with Black Bean

1/3 of a cup per serving.

This recipe is an adaptation of Hollybearsmom recipe. I added Greek Yogurt and a few more spices.

BK CE French Toast

Recipe from Clean Eating Magazine. Has become a great favorite around here!

Use the Whole Wheat French Loaf bread recipe and let the bread stay out overnight before the breakfast prep as slightly stale bread makes better French Toast.

CE Green Beans with Roasted Chestnuts

Holiday recipe from Clean Eating magazine. You could delete the chestnuts and serve without. Use Vegetable broth to make vegetarian.

Mashed Potatoes with Cauliflower Puree

I first saw the use of Cauliflower puree being used on Top Chef, and then noticed it on other cooking shows. It intrigued me and I can't stand Cauliflower! But here I add them with mashed potatoes so I can up the value of the mashed potatoes, cut back on the calories, and extend the potatoes.

Adapted from a Clean Eating magazine recipe using lean bison meat.

Curried Chicken Fruit Salad

A spicy chicken and fruit salad, delicious cold.

Apple Coleslaw

1/2 cup is a serving. Double or triple this recipe if you want to have enough for 4 or more people.

Lemon Rosemary Zucchini

We've also added in chopped Summer Squash to this recipe. The key to this recipe is the fresh Rosemary - dried just doesn't give it the punch.

Tomato and Bok Choy Salad

Adapted from a Cooking Light recipe. Also, you could add chopped mushrooms or chopped green onions instead of the shallots for variations.

Originally called for Heirloom Tomatoes but those are way too expensive for my family. Just make sure your tomatoes are truly ripe - not green - for the best taste.

Raspberry Glazed Porkchops with stuffing

A wonderful taste which is well worth the prep time. Breadcrumbs are based upon 1/2 a slice of bread being used.
