I tried to make this hearty meal a bit healthier but substituting beef for venison and using reduced fat crescent rolls. I'd never had this before, but we thought it was pretty good.
We cook regularly with deer meat as it is much leaner than beef, and has great flavor. This is our version of taco filler using ground venison (no tallow or beef mix added). TIP: If you don't like the flavor of venison try adding a cup of beef broth to the meat; in this case, add it instead of water with the taco seasoning. We LOVE this with taco salads!
Just thinking about this vinaigrette makes my mouth water. My aunt made this for me and then gave me the recipe a few years ago. I could eat it every day. It is best paired with dark greens like spinach or field greens; don't even think about wasting it on regular lettuce... It is packed with flavor, so a little bit goes a long way!
It can be tough to add healthy, raw veggies to your diet. Sometimes a good dip is just what you need to get into a raw veggie habit. This dip is made with Greek Yogurt instead of mayo or sour cream, so it cuts the calories and fat (adds protein) without taking away the creaminess or flavor.
This soup is so yummy... ...And so guilt free! It is hearty and warm and savory and... Dare I say... Good for you! not to mention it's so versatile and easy to make!
Refreshing lo-cal meal. Avacado, tuna, and flax seed full of good fats, and Omega-3's. Mayo may be substituted for Kraft Olive Oil Mayo (less calories and reduced fat).
This is a great substitute for take-out, and much better for you!! Even the left-overs are terrific. I serve this dish over whole wheat noodles (lo-mein style) or brown rice (brown rice adds 100 calories per serving). Either way this recipe is filling and packed with flavor!
